What a Luxury Cruise Fare Really Includes
Sep 20, 2026 · Meridian Advisors
"All-inclusive" is one of the most stretched phrases in travel. Here's what is commonly included in luxury fares, and what usually isn't.
Commonly included
- Suite or stateroom accommodation and most dining venues
- House wines, spirits and soft drinks on many lines
- Gratuities on several lines
- Wi-Fi, increasingly
Sometimes included
- Shore excursions (one per port, or unlimited on certain lines)
- Flights and transfers, often as a promotional add-on
- Pre-cruise hotel nights
Usually extra
- Spa treatments, premium wine lists and private excursions
- Travel insurance, which we strongly recommend
- Visas and some port fees on certain itineraries
